Cookies and analytics

Cookie and tracking statement

What cookies BedbugExtermination.co.uk uses: Google Analytics 4 only after you click Accept, no advertising features, and a footer link to change your choice.

Your choice comes first

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which guides help. It stays switched off until you say yes. Because a cookie banner asks you to accept or decline, the decision is yours.

Before you choose, we use Google Consent Mode v2, so Google receives no consent from you. It sets four consent signals to denied by default. Those signals are analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization.

What happens when you accept

The Google tag (gtag.js) loads only after you click Accept. As a result, Google Analytics sets two cookies in your browser. They are called _ga and _ga_ followed by our container identifier.

Google documents that the _ga cookie distinguishes users and the _ga_ container cookie keeps session state. Google also says both last up to 2 years. You can read the details in Google's cookie usage documentation.

What happens if you decline

If you decline, the Google tag does not load, so no analytics cookies appear. The site works in exactly the same way. You can still read every guide and send an enquiry.

No advertising

We do not use advertising features. Therefore, the site has no advertising pixels, no remarketing and no marketing cookies. We do not use analytics data to build advertising audiences. Fonts and editorial images come from our own domain, so we do not load third-party fonts or videos.

Change your mind at any time

Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. You can switch analytics on or off whenever you like. However, if you switch it off, remember that cookies already set may stay in your browser until they expire. You can delete them in your browser settings.

Infrastructure records

Cloudflare may process ordinary request and security information to deliver and protect the site. That processing is separate from analytics, since it keeps the site running and safe. It does not follow you between websites for marketing.
