How the city pages work
Each city page starts with the local council. It reports what the council's own pest-control page says about bed bugs, and the date we checked it. Charges and eligibility change, so the council page is always the final word.
Renting rules differ between England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. For that reason, each page links to the official guidance for its own nation rather than copying one template.
What each city page covers
Each page sets out what to do first in that city. For example, it explains how to check a bed, keep a record and avoid spreading bed bugs to other rooms. It also links to our main guides, so you can read more on each step.
Council services change over time, so we record the date we checked each council page. If a council page says nothing about bed bugs, the city page says so plainly. In that case, it points you to the official route for your nation instead.
We do not list local firms, prices or ratings on these pages. Instead, you can use the request form. We pass your enquiry to a UK pest control company that covers your area, so it can contact you.

If your city is not listed
You do not need to live in a listed city to use this website. The identification and treatment guides apply anywhere in the UK, because bed bugs behave the same way in every home.
In England and Wales, the GOV.UK postcode tool shows whether your council offers pest control. In Scotland and Northern Ireland, check your council's own website instead, because services and charges vary.
